Our Mission

Your AFGE Local 2199 has been defending Salt Lake System VA employee interests and labor rights since 1962. Our local starts with you our members, who are the driving force in making decisions and guiding our goals. Our main purpose is to hear your concerns, represent your interests at all levels of management, and defend your right to fair and due process through policy, law, administrative actions, and demands to bargain. We uphold the AFGE Master Agreement at our local level and ensure management does the same.

Union leaders and stewards come from the membership itself. We are here to provide full transparency in our budget, and what is happening with the local, and to provide updates as we get them to you. Please feel free to call or email us with any questions you have.
