In this video we mention 3 things:
1) NVAC Elections, our delegates, and who is running.
2) Our local elections on Nov 12, 2025 @ 5:30 PM at the membership meeting, and needing 3 volunteers to be on the Elections Committee.
3) We will be taking nominations for candidates at our Oct. 8, 2025 membership meeting @ 5:30 pm. We describe who can nominate and be nominated. this great video
Union Dues enable our union to continue to function in perilous times such as for our office space off campus, trainings for representation on EEO, MSPB, and Workers Comp Cases. Especially with fighting litigation at the national level to preserve our labor rights, collective bargaining, and contracts. This is happening right now and requires continued funding.
We strongly encourage all members to convert to E-Dues, which allows members to pay the union directly through their bank or credit union. You can find out how to sign up by clicking https://www.afge.org/edues . Please be aware this is a year contract.
Sisters and Brothers,
WE ARE STILL A UNION AND STILL HERE FIGHTING FOR YOU!
Our AFGE National Attorneys have filed lawsuits in Federal Court, to address the illegal actions of the Department of Veterans Affairs. Our 2023 Master Agreement and other Union agreements were also terminated by Secretary Collins. Please hang in there, do your best to comply and adapt to these changes. I encourage everyone to retain their Union membership and remain patient while the legal processes have concluded.
During this time, together our combined voices, efforts, and sheer numbers, will have a significant greater impact than us being divided. We must remember that the mission is serving Veterans! We will remain your leaders and will provide updates to changes as they occur. These updates will soon be delivered to you via FB, (AFGE Local 2199), INSTAGRAM, BROADSTRIPES, or our Website. As in year 2020, you will have a right to have us personally represent you until all is resolved. I
The question for all, is do you want to work in a workplace, where there is no oversight, representation, or a Union?? Our strength is in our collective voices, our membership numbers, dues payments for attorney cost and the opposition wants to see us crumble. Please call your Congressional and Senate Representatives and help us to stop this inequity in representation!
Respectfully In Solidarity!
Robert (ROB) J. Johnson, President
